Robert E. Wertz, MD, FACS
Dr. Robert E. Wertz has been a Member of the Altoona Hospital Medical Staff for greater than 30 years. He has held many positions, including Director of the Dept. of Surgery, and currently is Chairman of the Board for both the Altoona Hospital and Central Pennsylvania Health Services Corporation.
Dr. Wertz maintains professional memberships as a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Blair County Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.

Matthew E. Newlin, MD, FACS
Dr. Newlin joined Allegheny Regional Surgical Associates in 2004. Before coming to the area, he completed an Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Fellowship at the Ohio State University Medical Center. He performs all aspects of general surgery with an emphasis on advanced laparoscopic surgery and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Newlin is the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Allegheny Regional Health System. He is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Pennsylvania Society of Bariatric Surgery, and the American Medical Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Scot A. Currie, DO, FACOS
Dr. Currie joined Allegheny Regional Surgical Associates in 2011.
